FAQ
What kind of attire is appropriate for the wedding?
A: We're envisioning a 'tropical elegance' dress code. For ladies, a flowy, airy summer dress would be perfect, paired with comfortable sandals. For gentlemen, linen suits, khaki pants or smart shorts with a light, breathable shirt would work well. Remember, it can get warm, so lightweight fabrics are your best bet. Don't forget to accessorize with sunglasses and maybe even a festive Hawaiian lei!
Will I need to bring any formal wear?
A: Our wedding will strike a balance between casual and elegant. While you won't need a full suit or formal gown, a semi-formal outfit for the reception dinner would be suitable. Think tropical cocktail attire, and when in doubt, it's better to be a touch overdressed than underdressed.
How should I pack for the overall trip?
Kona, Hawaii has a tropical climate. Pack plenty of light, breathable clothing. Don't forget your swimsuit, beach gear, sunscreen, and a hat. Comfortable walking shoes are a must for exploring, and a light jacket or sweater could come in handy for cooler evenings.
What is the best way to travel to Kona, Hawaii?
A: Most guests will find it easiest to fly. Kona International Airport (KOA) is the main airport on the Big Island. Major airlines have regular flights to KOA. Once you're there, we recommend renting a car for the duration of your stay for convenience, although taxis and ride-share services are available.
When should I plan to arrive for the wedding?
We suggest arriving at least a couple of days before the wedding. This will give you time to get over any jet lag, familiarize yourself with the area, and enjoy some of the local attractions.
How can I get around once I'm in Kona?
Renting a car is the most flexible option and will allow you to explore the island at your leisure. Alternatively, taxis, ride-share services, and local buses are available.
Should I book accommodation soon?
Yes, we highly recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible. We have reserved a block of rooms at our venue, but these are first-come-first-serve.
